Bill Plympton

This is the one kind of humour that really cracks me up!

Bill Plympton is an American animator born ni 1946, best known for his Oscar nominated animated short Your Face. He's got a great unconventional humour which also at times can be quite dark. Check out the following trailor for his animated feature Hair High, a comedy-horror-romance
"A gothic high-school comedy with a "Carrie"-like story. Cherri (Sarah Silverman) and Rod (Dermot Mulroney) are the high-school king and queen and they justifiably rule their domain. Spud (Eric Gilliland), the new kid in town, accidentally offends both Cherri and Rod and so is forced to become Cherri's slave. Naturally, they immediately hate each other, but of course later they fall in love. Cherri and Spud secretly decide to go to the prom together, and on prom night a rejected Rod forces their car off the road and into the lake. In true 50's ballad style, their car sinks to the bottom of the lake as they share one last kiss. While the bodies of Cherri and Spud lie in a timeless embrace, Rod is successful in thwarting any investigation and is able to get away with murder. On the night of the following year's prom, the car magically comes to life and slowly......................"

Tretchikoff

I've grown to love the works of Tretchikoff. He's a self-taught painter, born in Russia in 1913, and died in Cape Town, South Africa in 2006. He painted real-life portraits and most of his subjects are based on his early travels in China and Malaysia. The reproduction of his paintings second Picasso, and he was also known as the epitome of "kitsch"
I think he's better than kitsch.

advertising VS reality

hello all,
stumbled upon a site like this, here

never would have thought of doing a project like this, i should probably give up my day job(advertising) and instead become a "documentary" photographer... afterall advertising is mostly lies hehehe...

Perfect example of products never looking like the images of it. and we have the proof!!!

This one's classic..."Er, would you like some Gulasch with peas and brain?"
